Hyderabad: A B.Tech student died and three of his friends were injured after their car was hit by a truck at Kompally on Tuesday morning.
Police identified the deceased as 19-year-old Sridhar Kumar of Narasimha Reddy Engineering College in Mysammaguda.
The injured were his classmates Ravi Kiran, Praneet and Shiva Shankar. They are recovering in a hospital.
Kumar had picked up his three friends from their flats in Kompally and was heading for the college in his Maruti 800 when a speeding tipper rammed their car from behind while trying to overtake near Chermas store.
The car got stuck between the front and rear wheels of the tipper and was crushed, police said. The truck driver fled the scene.
