Hyderabad: The use of remotely controlled drones, para gliders and remotely controlled Micro-Light Aircraft without prior permission has been banned in Hyderabad by the police for a month starting Friday. This after intelligence inputs warned of a possible attack by terrorists or anti-social elements using para gliders or remote controlled drones.

The city police commissioner has said there could be breach of peace, disturbance of public tranquility, grave danger to human life, health, safety and damage to public property through these terrorist or antisocial elements, who may organise aerial attacks.

Several event organisers use remote controlled drones to get aerial view for live telecast and photographs. But now NGOs or individuals cannot launch unmanned Aerial vehicle, Unmanned Aerial Survey from July 8 to August 7.
