A 22-year-old man collapsed on ground during an 800-meter run as part of physical screening for the post of constable in Nalgonda district and died in hospital, police said today.
V Rajasekhar, hailing from Suryapet in the district, yesterday participated in the physical training test after clearing the written test in Nalgonda town.
"During the 800-meter run as part of physical fitness test for recruitment of police constable, he completed the first round of 400 metre but collapsed during the second round. He was taken to a hospital where he died while undergoing treatment at around midnight yesterday," Nalgonda District Superintendent of Police N Prakash Reddy told Press Trust of India.
According to doctors, Mr Rajasekhar suffered "heart-attack" and died at the hospital, the police official said.
A case under section 174 CrPC (suspicious death) has been registered in connection with the incident and probe is on.
