The woman suffered injuries on her back, hip and neck after being attacked with acid in Hyderabad.
A 28-year-old woman was attacked with acid by her lover after she refused to return the money that she owed him.
Rajyalaksmi who works at a fan company in Jeedimetla, 21 km from Hyderabad was attacked by Neelu on Friday evening. He was also her colleague.
Neelu, for the past three months, had been forcing the woman to return Rs 20,000 that she borrowed from him. Neelu alias Nityananda Das was shifting house and needed the money.
Rajyalakshmi and Neelu have been together since 2015. They used to have frequent quarrels as Rajyalakshmi got back together with her previous lover, Shekhar.
"Shekhar, who had murdered Rajyalakshmi's husband in 2013 along with Rajyalakshmi's help, was in prison for two years and recently released. Shekhar threatened Neelu to stop asking Rajyalaksmi for the loaned amount," police officer Saidulu Reddy said.
The constant threats and her retorts, forced the 32-year-old Neelu to attack her.
"She has sustained injuries on her back, hip and neck. She is out of danger. The accused Neelu has been arrested under Section 307 of IPC for attempt of murder," C Shanker Reddy, Inspector of Police, Jeedimetla told NDTV
Rajyalakshmi is currently admitted in Continental Hospital in Jeedimetla.
