Srinagar: A person was killed and over two dozen were injured in clashes that broke out following the encounter of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Riyaz Naikoo in south Kashmir.
According to official sources, a large number of people gathered in Pulwama's Beighpora and adjoining villages on Wednesday and threw stones at security personnel, prompting them to use pellet guns in self-defence.
In visuals of the incident, some of the protesters were seen climbing on top of a bulletproof vehicle of the police; others were seen climbing over a mobile bunker and hitting it with wooden poles and stones.
