Dehradun:
Five more students of Doon School have tested positive for swine flu, taking the total number of children affected by the virus to 10.
Following this, the Uttarakhand Health Department has advised all schools in the hill state like Welham, Sherwood and Woodstock to keep a close watch on the students.
Meanwhile, the headmaster of Doon School Dr Peter Mc Laughlin has denied reports that the school has been shut down after some students tested positive for the H1N1 virus. Speaking to NDTV, Mc Laughlin said that students were given an option of going home, but 50 per cent have chosen to stay on.
Some boys have been given Tamiflu on the advice of the authorities and others will be treated with it as advised by the state medical officers when they display severe symptoms or have been in close contact with the boys who tested positive, a school spokesman had said. (With PTI inputs)
