Lodged in the Muzaffarnagar district jail, a lifer and nine undertrials have secured first division in board examinations.

According to Jail Superintendent Rakesh Singh, Joga Singh, who is serving a life term, secured 75 per cent, under-trial Babit Singh secured an impressive 74 per cent while Amit Singh got 72 per cent in class 10th examination.
Mr Chirag and Mr Jaigant secured 67 per cent each.
While Mohd Inam secured 74 per cent in class 12th examination, Mr Sumit got 70 per cent, Mr Ashok 65 per cent, Shekher Sharma 64 per cent and Gaurav Sharma secured 60 per cent, the Jail Superintendent said.
He said that nine among those are facing trial in several criminal cases, including for murder, loot and attempt to murder.
The Uttar Pradesh Board had arranged an examination centre in Dasna (Ghaziabad) Jail for the inmates.
