Ten people, including two children, were crushed to death when a car and a bus collided in Karnataka, said police.
The incident was reported from Tnarsinghpura near Mysuru.
One of the occupants of the Innova car survived and is under treatment.
Visuals from the scene showed the badly mangled car with bodies stuck inside it.
The Innova Car was allegedly speeding, said reports, and lost control at the turn near Kurpur and collided head-on. The police are at the accident site.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of 10 people from Bellary who died in the horrific crash.
The Deputy Commissioner has been instructed to visit the spot and conduct an investigation immediately, the Chief Minister said.
