10 people, including women and children, died after a boulder they were taking shelter under during a storm gave way due to rain and strong winds in Uttarakhand's Dehradun district. Seven others were injured during the landslide which happened late on Sunday night.
The victims were Nepali labourers and their families who were working on a project under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Tyuni area of Chakrata in the Dehradun district.
Local people were the first to reach the spot and help in relief and rescue from which 7 labourers were pulled out alive.
The bodies of 10 labourers have been pulled out and the injured have been admitted to a hospital.
