12 members of a family had a narrow escape near Mussoorie in Uttarakhand when the minibus they were travelling in, met with an accident.
According to the police, the brakes of the minibus failed while on its way to Kempty Falls, a popular tourist destination. Realising this, the driver quickly turned the vehicle towards the mountain in a bid to avoid falling into a deep gorge on the other side, the police said.
The minibus toppled due to the impact, and the 12 people inside sustained minor injuries.
A crane was brought in by the Mussoorie Police later to clear the road which also leads to the famous shrine of Yamunotri.
