Bareilly: Twelve people were today killed and 50 others injured when a bus fell into the ditch near Uchasiya village in Bareilly district.
The bus carrying about 96 passengers was going from Bahraich to Delhi when the mishap took place on National Highway 24, police said.
The injured were rushed to a hospital where 12 died during treatment while the condition of 10 others was stated to be serious.
The state government has announced compensation of Rs 5 lakhs for the next of kin of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 each for the injured.
