Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh: Twelve pilgrims were killed and three others seriously injured when the jeep they were travelling in rammed into a bus carrying foreign tourists in Uttar Pradesh's Balrampur this morning.
The pilgrims were returning from Devi Patan temple in Tulsipur when their jeep hit a bus carrying foreign tourists at Belha turn killing 10 persons on the spot, Superintendent of Police Umesh Chandra Srivastava said.
Two pilgrims succumbed to injuries on way to hospital, the officer said.
Three persons were admitted to the district hospital in a serious condition, he said, adding the foreign tourists are safe and have been sent to their hotels.
Efforts were on to identify the pilgrims killed in the accident, Mr Srivastava added.
