14 School Girls Fall Sick in West Bengal's Bankura

The girls were rushed to Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital

Bankura, West Bengal: A total of 14 girls of prominent girls' school in the district headquarters town in Bankura were hospitalised after falling sick today.

Headmistress of Bankura Town Girls' School Krishna Banerjee said the girls, of class IX, X and VII, complained of dizziness and some of them fainted after tiffin hour.

They were rushed to Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital by the school and were stated to be in stable condition after they administered saline drip.

"The girls had complained of uneasiness which was probably triggered by heat and humidity and stress. But they are better now and will be discharged by this evening itself," Hospital Superintendent Panchanan Kundu said.

Anxious parents crowded at the hospital and school premises after the news spread but were pacified by attending medical staff and school authorities.
