Bundi:
A 14-year-old government school student was allegedly raped by her teacher in Bundi, around 190 kms from Rajasthan's state capital Jaipur.
A case was registered against the teacher for allegedly raping the minor, a Class 9 student, on the complaint of her family.
According to police, he picked up the girl on March 9 on the pretext of visiting a nearby temple for offering prayers. The accused then brought her to an acquaintance's house in Bundi city for perpetrating the crime, Station House Officer (SHO) of Hindoli police station Sheeshram Meena said.
Later, the girl confided in her family members after which they filed a complaint today.
The teacher has been booked under various relevant sections of the law, including those of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
The girl has been sent for medical examination, he said, adding that no arrest has been made as yet.
The principal of the Government Secondary School where she studied said the accused had joined government service as a Second Grade English teacher in 2011 and was on probation.
District Education Officer (Secondary) Radhashyam Laddha said he was not aware of the incident and if it was true, "stern departmental action would be taken against the accused teacher."
