Malda, West Bengal: The spectre of crib deaths returned to Malda Medical College and Hospital with 15 infants dying in the past three days.
The institution's medical superintendent and vice-principal MA Rashid said five infants died on the first day, seven on the second day and three in the past 24 hours.
The age of all the 15 deceased infants was between one day and three months, he said.
The newborns, brought from different primary health centres of Malda dsitrict in critical condition, suffered from low weight, breathing problems and malnuitrition, CMOH (Malda) Dilip Kumar Mondal said.
