A 16-year-old girl was on Thursday set on fire in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district after she allegedly resisted a rape attempt.
The girl, a student of Class 9, has suffered 90 per cent burns and is battling for life at the Aligarh Medical College.
The incident occurred in Pahasu area where the accused, a local, allegedly tried to rape the teen at her house. When she resisted, he allegedly poured kerosene over her and set her on fire.
Police has filed a case of attempt to rape and attempt to murder against the man who is absconding.
