17-year-old girl held hostage four days, allegedly gang-raped by six men

Bhubaneswar: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by six persons for four days in Odisha's Cuttack district, police said on Wednesday.

The incident was reported on Tuesday when the victim reported the matter to the police after escaping from a house in Bindhnima village where she was confined.

Later, the police arrested a person. Five other accused have been missing since the incident.

According to an FIR lodged by the victim, she was in a relationship with one of the accused - identified as Litu Behera - who lived in the same village.

She alleged that on September 6, some of the accused took her to the spot saying that Behera wanted to meet her.

"Two guys took me inside a hut atop the nearby Kumargaon hill. Three more people were present there as well," she said in her complaint.

The accused allegedly gagged her mouth and gang-raped her, the victim said, adding that later Behera also joined them. She was even threatened with dire consequences if she reported the incident.

The police has sent the girl for medical examination and launched a manhunt to nab the other culprits.
