A 19-year-old teenager was arrested by the NIA for his alleged links with the ISIS and facilitating recruitment and radicalisation of some people in West Bengal.
Ashik Ahammed alias Raja, a resident of Hooghly district, was arrested yesterday in a case related to terrorist conspiracy.
"His role has emerged in the case as a facilitator to some of the key members of the ISIS-affiliated terror module, who wanted to recruit and radicalise youths in West Bengal," a statement issued by the National Investigation Agency said.
Ahammed was today produced before the NIA special court here and remanded in police custody for five days. The accused was pursuing a diploma course in Mechanical Engineering in Durgapur in West Bengal.
The National Investigation Agency had earlier arrested 14 youths in the case after a nationwide crackdown.
