Today, speaking to NDTV, Mr Tytler said he was with Indira Gandhi's body since 7:30 am till 3 pm on November 1, so how can he be present at two places at the same time.
Here are the highlights of what he said:
- What is the credibility of the three witnesses? Even I want to know why I am being targeted.
- For 22 years, there have been 12 commissions. No one named me.
- I was with Mrs Gandhi's body since 7:30 in the morning and was there till 3 pm.
- The Nanavati Commission report says the mob arrived at the Gurudwara around 1:30 pm. How can I be present at two places?
- You people are out to destroy me. It takes 45 minutes to go from Teen Murti to that Gurudwara.
- All witnesses are telling you lies.
- One of the witnesses (Jasbir Singh) is an absconder.
- You are telling me none of the courts have exonerated me but I want to ask you who has complained against me.
- I agree that things have dragged on far too long.
- Gandhi family is a noble family and people with soft hearts. We are not happy with the 1984 riots. I hope that actual criminals are punished.
- Witness Surinder Singh had given a statement to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) that Phulka is putting pressure on his father to speak against Tytler.
- Who has named me? Which widow has named me? Lakhwinder Kaur who named me wasn't in Delhi... she was in Amritsar. She found out about her husband's death after three days.
- I would agree to a lie detector test but those witnesses should also be made to undergo that.
- Don't compare what happened in Gujarat to 1984 riots. Gujarat was a calculative step by the Chief Minister of the state.
- Why should I bother? I have no moral right to ask Congress to let me fight elections.
- I will not fight elections, I will not accept a ticket. I will wait till my name is cleared.
