2 Cops Injured As Terrorists Open Fire At Police Convoy in South Kashmir
The incident took place in Gooriwan where the police team was on routine law and order duty for the procession marking the birthday of Prophet Mohammad, police said.
Srinagar: Two policemen, including a deputy superintendent of police were injured when suspected terrorists opened fire in south Kashmir's Bijbehara.

Unidentified terrorists fired at a police team during a procession in connection with Eid-e-Milad festival in Anantnag, about 50 kms from Srinagar, police said.

The incident took place in Gooriwan where the police team was on routine law and order duty for the procession marking the birthday of Prophet Mohammad, police said.

Sub Divisional Police Officer of Bijebehara Irshad Ahmad and a constable were injured in the firing, they said. Both were shifted to a hospital in Srinagar.

Further details of the incident are awaited, police said.
