2 Indian Sailors Die In Yemen Vessel Fire: Sushma Swaraj

Other three sailors who were injured during the fire were out of danger.

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today said two Indian sailors died and three others were injured in a fire in a vessel Al Sadaa in Yemen.

"We have lost two Indian sailors Mahesh Kumar Rajagopal and Deepu Lathika Mohan due to fire in a vessel Al Sadaa. My condolences. The three sailors injured in Yemen are all Indians. They are admitted in Sultan Qaboos Hospital Salalah in Oman," the minister tweeted.

She further said while one of the injured sailors, Atul Borker, from Chennai was critical, two other victims Alauddin from Lucknow and Tajveer Singh from Ghaziabad were out of danger and stable respectively.

"The three injured have been admitted in a hospital in Salalah, Oman. Our missions in Djibouti and Oman are providing all assistance," Ms Swaraj added.

Tweeting about another Indian national in the war-torn country, the minister said "I have spoken to Sister Sally - an Indian national from Kerala. She is safe and will be evacuated today itself."
