2 Injured In Can Bomb Explosion In West Bengal

The blast took place when an employee of a hardware shop in the market moved an old can he found kept in front of the shop.

Hooghly, West Bengal: Two persons were injured this morning when a can bomb exploded in a market in Guptipara under Balagarh police station of Hooghly district, police said.

The blast took place when an employee of a hardware shop in the market moved an old can he found kept in front of the shop.

The employee Tapas Rajbangshi, who had come to open the shop, and another person, Nitai Das, were injured in the explosion, police said.

They were admitted to Balagarh primary health centre. Senior police officials reached the spot and investigation is on, police said adding several shop owners downed their shutters or did not open their shops in panic.
