Bhopal:
Two people were killed and at least 22 injured in a stampede at Salkhandevi temple in Madhya Pradesh's Salkanpur district, 50 kms from Bhopal.
The stampede reportedly took place at 5:45 am today.
Among the dead are a woman and a child. At least 22 were injured. Seven seriously injured people have been referred to Bhopal for treatment. Others are being treated at Rehti.
Thousands of pilgrims had gathered at the temple for the ongoing 'navratra' celebrations.
The collector has announced Rs 1 lakh each for the families of the deceased.
