Two people were killed and eight others injured after a raft overturned in a river in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam today.
The raft overturned in Pahalgam's Lidder River. One of those killed was a tourist while the other was a tourism department employee.
They were a part of a three-day rafting championship being held as a tribute to Rauf Ahmad Dar, a tourist guide who had died trying to save five tourists from drowning this month.
Their raft had overturned in Pahalgam in the south Kashmir. Rouf Ahmed Dar had jumped in the river and managed to rescue all the tourists.
