Hailstorm, heavy rain and strong winds swept the Kashmir valley on Tuesday evening.
Two people, including a minor girl, were killed after strong winds and heavy rains lashed several parts of the Kashmir valley and damaged property and standing crop.
Rain, accompanied by high speed winds, uprooted trees, damaged residential houses and caused the death of a 15-year-old girl in Bandipore and a woman in Anantnag district this evening.
Official sources say 15-year-old Rehana was killed when a tree fell on her at Aloosa village in Bandipore district. The other woman too died after a tree fell on her in Anantnag.
Hailstorm, heavy rain and strong winds swept the valley this evening. Other than a number of residential houses, standing crop and orchards have also suffered damages. Officials say they are assessing the losses.
