Srinagar: Two terrorists were killed as an encounter broke out between them and security forces this evening in Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district, police said.
Acting on a tip-off about presence of terrorists in Lachipora area of Uri, a joint team of police and the army launched a search operation in the area, a police official said.
As security forces were carrying out the search operation, terrorists fired upon them, triggering an encounter in which the two terrorists were killed, he said.
The operation was going on when last reports came in, the official said.
