Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists, including a former policeman, were killed today in a gun battle with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district.
An encounter broke out between security forces and the terrorists in Vehil village in Shopian, 55 km from Srinagar, after the troops of 62 Rashtriya Rifles launched a search operation in the area, an army official said.
He said two terrorists were killed in the encounter. Two weapons were recovered from the terrorists.
The official said the dead terrorists were identified as Naseer Ahmad and Inamul Haq alias Waseem Malla, both wanted terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen.
