Two terrorists and a soldier were killed today in a fierce encounter in a forest area in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. Another soldier was injured in the gun battle.
The encounter began after security forces received a tip off about the presence of terrorists and launched an operation at the Bhawan forest area in Handwara.
"One soldier was martyred while another soldier was injured in the operation," an official said.
Two more terrorists are still believed to be holed up in the area and the gun battle is still on.
