Two terrorists have been shot dead in an encounter with security forces at a village in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore district, 50 kilometres from Srinagar. The police said the two terrorists fired at the security forces as they closed in on the area. A policeman and an army jawan were injured.
A body of one of the terrorists has been found, a police officer said. A search operation is going on.
The police said the security forces entered the area on getting intelligence reports about some terrorists hiding there. "As the cordon was tightened, the terrorists fired at the security forces, triggering the gunfight," a police officer said.
Mobile internet has been snapped in the district, news agency IANS reported.
