21 miners, trapped in Bengal coal mine, rescued

Burdwan: 21 miners, who were trapped at the South Samla coal mine, in West Bengal's Burdwan district, have been rescued.

The miners were trapped when the lift they were in was stuck in a shaft.  Mine authorities say the lift's 'winder' had broken down.

The  trapped miners were brought up from the shaft after the winder was fixed.
