26/11 voice samples: Action after court verdict, says Malik
Islamabad: Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik has responded to reports of delays in pursuing the voice samples of those who may have been involved in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

Speaking to NDTV, Mr Malik promised "action within 24 hours" on voice samples of 26/11 accused once the court gives go ahead.

"We are just awaiting court vedict on voice samples; we have appealed for permission," Mr Malik said.

He also said that Pakistan is keen to bring the criminals behind 26/11 to justice.

After a June meeting this year between Home Minister P Chidambaram and Mr Malik, Pakistan indicated its willingness to provide voice samples of 26/11 handlers and offer any other kind of cooperation to India, which pressed for prosecution of more people involved in the Mumbai terror attacks.

Today, Mr Malik said he wants to thank India for co-operation on the judicial commission adding that he "sends his personal thanks to Mr Chidambaram".

Indian investigators want the voice samples of the handlers, who have been identified in the dossiers given by India to Pakistan, to be matched with the recordings of the conversation the Mumbai attackers had with them.
