Guwahati: Nearly 30 people including 13 children have been killed in a major road accident in Assam. They were traveling in two buses which were hit by a truck on National Highway 35 in the Barpeta district of the northern part of the state.
The truck driver has been held.
10 people have also been injured.
The truck hit one bus which then rear-ended another; both buses flipped over. 28 people died immediately.
Police officials say many of the victims were labourers headed to work at brick kilns.
