2G judicial probe: BJP protest today

New Delhi: The BJP has planned a protest in Parliament against the government's decision to set up a judicial inquiry into 2G since 2001. This comes after the government had ordered an inquiry by a retired Supreme Court judge into the spectrum allocation from 2001-2009, which includes the time the NDA was in power. Yesterday, Ratan Tata had hit back at Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrashekher, who has alleged that the Tata group benefitted from the out of turn allotment of spectrum.

While rubbishing this claim, Mr Tata said many of the flip flops in the telecom policy took place when the NDA was in power. His comments led to a huge political uproar. (Read: BJP flip-flopped on Telecom, says Tata)
