New Delhi:
A Delhi court today refused to take up a petition seeking an FIR against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and DMK leader Dayanidhi Maran for alleged irregularities in the 2G spectrum scam.
"This court, dealing with cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act, has no jurisdiction to entertain the application," the judge said. She said the complaint can only be addressed by the special court hearing the 2G scam.
A right to information activist had filed a complaint accusing the Prime Minister and former telecom minister Maran of "unlawfully changing" the terms of references for vacation and reallocation of spectrum, leading to the 2G scam.
The activist sent his complaint to the Central Bureau of Investigation and the anti-corruption branch of the Delhi government before approaching the court.
