2G scam: Now, Enforcement Directorate to brief JPC

New Delhi: After the CBI chief and CAG deposing before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on 2G probe, it's the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) turn today.

ED director Arun Mathur and senior officials will brief the JPC on foreign exchange violations in the 2G spectrum scam.

The ED will explain to the JPC in detail about the probe it conducted under provisions of anti-money laundering laws and share holding patterns of telecom firms with foreign companies.

The ED estimates FEMA violations to the tune of over 4,300 crore rupees by top telecom firms including Swan, Loop and S-Tel.

It has also slapped charges against these companies.
