New Delhi: Pakistani authorities have arrested three suspects of the terror attack on the Pathankot Air Force Base last month, media reports from Gujranwala in Pakistan's Punjab province said today.

"Anti-Terrorism Court No 2 Judge Bushra Zaman on Saturday granted six-day physical remand of three suspects said to be involved in the Pathankot airbase attack and handed them over to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD)," a report in Dawn said.

The three, Khalid Mahmood, Irshadul Haque and Muhammad Shoaib, were arrested by the counter-terror unit from a rented house in the city, nearly 70 km from Lahore, the report said. They were taken to an "undisclosed destination", it added. They are suspected of being facilitators of the attack.

Earlier this week, Pakistan had set up a five-member Joint Investigation Team or JIT to probe the terror attack, a week after it formally registered a case into the incident. The team replaced an earlier Special Investigation Team that Pakistan had formed. The case was registered based on the information shared by India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval with his Pakistani counterpart.

The JIT, which is headed by an officer of the counter-terror unit which made he arrests, would be visiting the airbase next month to gather evidence subject to permission by the Indian government to conduct its own investigation.
