Azamgarh: A day after a policeman died and 23 others were taken ill during a physical ability test, another 30 policemen today fainted due to extreme heat while undergoing the test for the post of sub-inspector in Uttar Pradesh.
The incident occurred this morning when 30 policemen participating in a marathon here fainted during physical ability test due to heat, additional SP and examination officer Ashok Kumar Verma said.
A policeman had died yesterday while appearing for the physical test in Meerut and 23 others were taken ill in different districts of the state.
A police personnel Dilip suffered heat stroke after which he jumped from the first floor of the district hospital and sustained injuries, Chief Medical Officer Moeed said.
