Karimganj, Assam:
Altogether 30 school teachers have been temporarily suspended from service in Hailakandi district of Assam for dereliction of duty, official sources said today.
Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner Shamsher Singh also issued a show cause notice to Deputy Inspector of Schools Nripen Das and Block Education Officer Arun Singh yesterday. The DIS and BEO have been accused of not carrying out their official duties properly, the Deputy Commissioner said today.
There were complaints from various political and other civil organisations that the education scenario in Hailakandi district had deteriorated considerably, he said.
The Deputy Commissioner had said yesterday that he had visited government-run Lakhirbond High Madrassa and found that 15 teachers were absent.
Mr Singh immediately issued an order on the spot to suspend all the 15 errant teachers. The D C also visited some primary schools in the area and warned that action will be taken against errant teachers.
