Bhubaneswar: At least 41 people were killed after being struck by lightning in different parts of Odisha in last two days.
The Odisha Disaster Management Control Room said that 41 people have lost their lives due to lightning and thunder stroke in 10 districts of the state since yesterday.
While the maximum number of eight deaths were reported from Bhadrak district, there were seven casualties in Balasore district, five in Khurda, three in Mayurbhanj besides others, it said.
The rest of the casualties were reported from other districts.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the special relief commissioner to provide assistance to the bereaved families, the chief minister's office said in a statement yesterday.
