4 BSF jawans injured in explosion near Jammu
Jammu: Four Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were injured at the international border in the Samba sector when their patrol was hit by an IED blast.

The explosion occurred at around 0915 hours this morning when a BSF patrolling party was marching near border outpost of Mangu Chak in Hiranagar sector, BSF officials said.

As per report the border fence was cut and an IED was planted specifically to target the BSF patrol party. Earlier this week there were exchange of firing between the BSF and infiltrators in the same sector.

"They had cut the fence and placed an IED there and when we along with our company commander went to check it, that's when the IED was triggered. There was no crossing but this was just a trap to kill us," said Ashok Kumar, head constable of BSF.

"I was tracing the footprints when the IED went off, we were six people of the patrol party, some of our jawans have been injured," said JCP Shukla, head constable of BSF.

During the past few months, the level of infiltration along the border with Pakistan have risen. On November 16, DIG BSF O P Tanwar was killed and two other jawans were injured in a powerful IED blast near the Indo-Pak border at Ballad Post in Samba sector of Jammu.
