Four coaches of a goods train today derailed between Barhan and Mitwali stations of Ghaziabad-Tundla section resulting in cancellation of eight trains and change in route of 14 trains including Rajdhanis, a railway spokesman said.
However, no casualties have been reported. The train derailed at 6.28 AM following which eight passenger trains were cancelled while Sitapur City-Kanpur Passenger train was short-terminated at Balamau station of Hardoi district, Mr Amit Malviya, Railway spokesman (NCR) said.
The route of seven trains on the up line, including Guwahati-Delhi Rajdhani, Howrah-Delhi Rajdhani, Bubaneshwar-Delhi Rajdhani, Sealdah-Delhi Rajdhani and Kanpur-Delhi Shatabdi was changed. They would now go through Tundla-Agra-Palwal junctions, he said.
Seven trains on the down line were also diverted, the spokesman said, adding, efforts are on to clear the track.
