Lucknow: Four persons have died of dengue and more than 3,000 cases of the vector-borne disease have been reported in Uttar Pradesh.
"3620 cases of dengue have been reported from across the state. So far, four deaths have occurred due to the disease," Principal Secretary Medical, Health and Family welfare, Arun Kumar Sinha said.
In Lucknow, 285 cases of dengue have been reported and the cases of the vector-borne disease have also come up in areas like Basti, Siddharth Nagar, Sitapur, Raebareli, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Fatehpur, Allahabad, Bareilly, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Deoria, Amethi and Aligarh, he said.
Mr Sinha said directives have been issued to officials concerned to ensure better treatment facility for patients.
The availability of medicines have been ensured in the hospitals, he said.
"No patients should die for want of medicines or treatment," he added.
