Jaipur:
47-year-old Jagan Singh who was declared brain dead, gave the lease of life to three men, who were transplanted with his liver and kidneys.
Mr Singh, a resident of Alwar district was admitted to SMS hospital here with head injuries and was declared brain-dead on Wednesday.
With his family's consent, it was decided that Singh's liver and kidneys will be transplanted into three persons.
While the kidneys were transplanted to two patients in Jaipur, Mr Singh's liver was sent to Delhi.
A special arrangement of a 'green corridor' was made with the help of police forces of three states to transport the liver to Delhi as soon as possible.
"The ambulance carrying the liver was escorted by a police jeep which cleared the way. The green corridor was made in coordination by Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi police," a hospital official said.
Dr Manprakash, Superintendent of the SMS hospital said that the liver was transported to the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in Delhi yesterday.
