Lucknow: Five coaches of the Doon Express derailed in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad this afternoon, railway officials said. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, so far.
However, the accident brought the crucial Gorakhpur route to a halt due to which many trains are stuck at different places.
A Northern Railway official said the train was on its way from Dehradun to Howrah when the coaches suddenly started tilting one way and five compartments derailed. No injuries have been reported as the train was moving at a slow speed at the time of the incident.
The derailed coaches included two general and three sleeper compartments.
Many trains including the Jaipur-Kamakhyaa Express were forced to stop at the Lucknow railway station and many other trains have been diverted.
