T Raja Singh, BJP MLA from Goshamahal in Telangana was arrested on Tuesday for his alleged derogatory comments against the Prophet Muhammad. The police said that a case was registered under sections of the law relating to insulting religious beliefs.

He retained his Goshamahal Assembly constituency in the December 2018 Telangana Asembly election.
Mr Singh, known for his "inflammatory" comments, has dozens of cases against him, mostly for "hate speeches".
In 2020, Facebook had banned the politician from the platform and Instagram for allegedly promoting hate.
Mr Singh was a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and later joined the BJP. He is currently the BJP floor leader in the Assembly.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had campaigned for him during the Telangana Assembly election.
