Pune: Five young men were killed and one was grievously injured when their car overturned on Pune-Mumbai Expressway in the wee hours today, police said.
The car was heading towards Pune when its driver lost control over the wheels at around 3 am under Kamshet police station limit, leading to the mishap, they said.
Three occupants of the car -- identified as Aditya Bhandarkar, Yash Shirali and Abhishek -- died on the spot, whereas two others succumbed to their injuries at a hospital, a duty officer at Kamshet police station said.
Two other deceased were yet to be identified, he said, adding the injured youth was admitted to hospital and his condition was stated to be critical.
The victims, in the age group of 20-22 years, are believed to be college students from Pune.
