7 satellites launched in 20 minutes

Sriharikota: Relieved scientists describe it as a perfect launch. The Indian SpaceResearch Organization or ISRO has launched 7 satellites into space oneafter another in a matter of 20 minutes.  India's Polar SatelliteLaunch Vehicle or PSLV lifted off from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh onWednesday afternoon. 

The 70-crore PSLV proves it's India's workhorse rocket with this latestmission, its 16th in as many years. The PSLV was carrying Oceansat 2, aremote-sensing spacecraft, and 6smaller satellites. The 960-kiloOceansat-2, will study oceans, and its data is likely to be a greathelp for fishermen

Piggybacking with Oceansat-2 were 6 smaller nano-satellites fromSwitzerland, Germany and Turkey, all of which have been placedsuccessfully into their prescribed orbits. 

With a constellation of 10 remote sensing satellites already in space, India is a space power to reckon with.
