Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday gave a call for "Sabka Prayas" (everyone's efforts) along with "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas" for building a self-reliant India.
Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of 75th Independence Day, PM Modi said, "We have to ensure we meet our goal of building Aatmanirbhar Bharat when we celebrate 100 years of India's Independence."
He said that "Sabka Saath - Sabka Vikas - Sabka Vishwas" and everyone's efforts are very important in achieving "all our goals".
The Prime Minister paid tribute to all the past leaders who fought the long and hard battle for Independence, saying, "Be it Nehru ji, the first Prime Minister of India, Sardar Patel, who turned the country into a united nation or Babasaheb Ambedkar, who showed India the way to the future, the country is remembering every such personality, the country is indebted to all of them".
Mentioning the ongoing battle against Covid, PM Modi said, "54 crore people have got vaccine doses. The way India gave free food to 80 crore poor people is noteworthy... It is true that we don't have the infrastructure like nations. Despite all the efforts, we have not been able to save many people. Many children lost their parents".
Early this morning, PM Modi greeted the people expressing hope that the year of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" will infuse new energy in the country.
The country is celebrating 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav', marking the 75th year of Independence, amid patriotic fervour. A series of events are being organised across the country to mark the occasion.

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha on Sunday hoisted the 100 feet tall flag installed at Hari Parbat on the western side of the Dal Lake in Srinagar in collaboration with the Army and Jammu and Kashmir administration on the occasion of Independence day.
The flag was hoisted in the presence of top officials from the Army, Police, and Administration of Jammu and Kashmir.
DP Pandey, General Officer Commander (GOC) of special cops, while addressing the guests said, "We are extremely thankful to the GOC department of Jammu and Kashmir, the police, CRPF, and the people of the place who contributed for making the installation of this flag possible."
As the country is celebrating 75th Independence Day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal unfurled a 115 feet high flag in the national capital on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Delhi Chief Minister said, "Today, we hoisted 115 feet high flag in the national capital. It's a different feeling when we see our national flag being hoisted here. We plan to put up 500 different flags of this height in the different parts of the capital."
To mark the 75th Independence Day celebrations, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, Rakesh Asthana hoisted the tricolour at Police Headquarters in the national capital on Sunday.
Unfurling the national flag, the CP, greeted the police personnel and their family members and wished that the entire Delhi Police family will join the national celebrations with full fervour and gaiety throughout the year to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav for 75 weeks, marking 75 years of our country''s independence.
He complimented the police personnel for performing strenuous arrangement duties with discipline and patience for the Independence Day function at Red Fort and city-wide bandobast in Delhi.
