An 8-year-old tribal girl was allegedly raped by an unidentified person and dumped near a pile of mining waste in Dabi police station area in Bundi district of Rajasthan.
Police said the minor girl belongs to tribal Mama Bheel community and her mother, a widow, works as a labourer in a mine in Patpadiya village. The woman is a resident of Jhabua district in Madhya Pradesh.
A case of rape has been lodged against an unidentified man, who is suspected to be a mining labourer, Deputy Superintend of Police Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat said, adding that efforts were being made to identify the accused on the basis of the minor girl's narration.
The girl was sent to Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) Hospital in Kota for a medical examination, the DSP said.
A local said that some labourers found the girl lying near a dump of mine waste and bleeding and informed her mother, who took her to the Dabi police station and filed a complaint.
