Ghaziabad: To deal with large number of pending cases, 850 new courts will be established in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Justice Dhananjaya Yashwant Chandrachud today said.
After inaugurating Ghaziabad CBI courts premises, Justice Chandrachud expressed deep concern over 1,44,000 pending cases in city court.
He said new courts will be constructed with a future planning to cater to the litigants' needs for the next 25 years.
All courts will be connected to separate electricity feeders to provide them outage-free power supply to facilitate their uninterrupted judicial working.
"My priority is to provide residence to 3rd and 4th classes employees of the judiciary and chamber to the lawyers," he said.
The High Court Chief Justice said security of the courts and judges must be ensured so that they can work in a duress-free environment without any interruption.
Justice Chandrachud said 500 posts for new judges will be created in Uttar Pradesh and they will be appointed by March 16 next year.
A notification for 197 civil judges has already been issued. Three hundred civil judges (junior division), 100 civil judges (senior division) and 212 fast track court judges will be appointed in UP to ensure speedy justice, he said.
The inaugural function was attended by District Judge Ravindra Nath Mishra, District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma, Ghaziabad Bar Association President Ram Avtar Gupta, and members of CBI prosecution branch among others.
